Willing to Die for Jesus

Please pray for this courageous brother who is facing death for his belief in Jesus.

Iranian Pastor Faces Execution

Pray:

  • For strength and even joy for him as he faces execution
  • If it's God's will, that the sentence be changed
  • Peace for his wife and young boys and provision for the future
  • That other believers would be encouraged as they watch Youcef's willingness to suffer for Jesus
  • Most of all, that Jesus' name would be honored and praised for this.
Am I willing to suffer death...or even ridicule, for the sake of Christ? Are you?

Family Life Today Interviews: Carolyn Twietmeyer and Luther and Rebekah Ellis

I'd strongly encourage you to visit Family Life Today and listen to their program for 9/26 and 9/27, as they interview Carolyn Twietmeyer and former NFL Lion (don't be prejudiced by the team! ) Luther Ellis and his wife Rebekah about their adoption journeys. My family and I were privileged to witness these interviews being recorded in April at the Christian Alliance for Orphans Orphan Care conference in Louisville KY.

As we listened to these interviews, we laughed, cried, and were deeply impressed by Carolyn and her husband Kiel's joyful readiness to obey God's call to care for the orphan. We were also touched by the humility of Luther and Rebekah and their evident love for each other. These interviews are worth listening to even if adoption isn't in your past or part of your future plans!

That's My King! Video

Our family just returned home from a wonderful church family retreat-nearly the entire church attended! It was a wonderful time, because we're really all like family. Our speaker Justin Taylor (son and brother to some in the church), shared this video with us. All I can say is...wow. How can I forget so often how real and good and magnificent and loving my King Jesus is! Please watch!

Happy Birthday Anna!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dear friend and favorite big sis Anna!!!

I miss you terribly and wish we could be together on your 21st birthday! You've been such a close and wonderful friend through all the years. From elaborate hair salons in our cribs, to playing fairies in the garden in England, to being captured by pirates in Minnesota, to teaching me to be a big sis when we adopted, to teaching me how to love life and laugh often, to journeying with me on the Christian adventure, you've been an incredible sister and forever friend that I love more than I can say. I wish I could be with you to give you a huge squeeze, but I"m so glad you're "Mrs. Aaron Nix" now and doing so well. I'm proud of you!

          Love you always,
                    Lissie

Really Random and Rather Silly

Sorry, no deep or philosophical video this time--just a goofy one that I found highly amusing after my recent trip to Russia, and encounter with a language barrier.

Another Perspective

I was excited to realize that the trip leader for my mission trip, Delilah, posted a few times with thoughts and pictures about our trip. Delilah was a wonderful leader with a great sense of a humor. Enjoy her blog!
